Urban gardening is a hot topic in Belfast at the moment, with projects and initiatives springing up independently all over the city. The projects are as diverse as the people involved in them, and each displays their own strengths and weaknesses. Urban gardening and community gardening is something almost anyone can initiate and get involved in, and gardening is a useful and essentially accessible skill, with a fresh chance to learn-by-doing every spring. Nicest of all, community gardening builds community spirit and helps people get to know their neighbours. Conversation hosted by Miriam Turley.
